Websites for Writers & Artists
James designs smart, visually atmospheric websites that give visitors a clear sense of your work and its world. Each site is built with imagery and typography that create a narrative—much like your books or artwork themselves.
Most projects begin with a simple structure—a homepage that reads like a frontispiece, sections that function like chapters, with typography chosen to match your tone and style. The process is especially helpful for creatives who want a site that reflects the tone of their work rather than relying on a standard template.
Collaboration is flexible and can be as hands-on or hands-off as you prefer. Most projects are completed within a few weeks and remain easy to update after launch.

Established authors updating an outdated site
Artists building a portfolio presence
Independent presses and small literary projects
Small businesses with a need for an informational site
Process
01 Conversation
We discuss your work, your audience, your page needs, and the visual direction of the site.
02 Structure
I sketch a homepage and section layout that reflects our shared vision, then provide you with a list of needed assets (copy and images)
03 Materials
You develop and share text and images. I offer feedback and help refine when needed.
04 Build & Revision
I complete the website build, then share the results. We meet to discuss the site, and adjust typography and layout to achieve a finished site.
